A proud Nike stan, Olympian Brittney Reese makes wardrobe change for Gulfport High gig
She wore Nike for a decade, including when she won the Olympic gold medal for the long jump.
Now, Brittney Reese is packing up her gear with the check mark logo and shopping for Adidas threads.
“I been a Nike athlete for over 10 years and now I have to switch to Adidas,” the new Gulfport High track coach said on Facebook. “Let me gone ahead and log into my Amazon account since they got a sale on!”
School athletics are sponsored by a corporate partner, often Nike or Adidas, and wearing clothes of the brand that isn’t your sponsor is a no go.
And while Reese is looking for a new athletic wardrobe, she has no plans on getting rid of her Nike gear.
Jokingly calling herself a “hoarder,” Reese said she’s packing up the clothes and putting them in her garage.
Reese is a 2004 graduate of Gulfport High and has won three Olympic medals.
