Want to meet legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden? Here’s your chance.
College football royalty will be in South Mississippi very soon.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes announced that former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden will be the featured speaker March 30 when the organization hosts its Good Friday Breakfast of Champions.
During his head coaching career, which spanned from 1959 until 2009 and included stints at Samford and West Virginia, Bowden posted a 377-129-4 all-time record. He also won two national championships while leading the Seminoles in 1993 and 1999.
Bowden has stayed active and involved with college football since retiring following the ’09 season. A movie titled “The Bowden Dynasty” was released in 2017. He has also published several books, the most recent called “Called to Coach: Reflections on life, faith, and football.”
Sponsorship opportunities for Bowden’s Coast visit cost $3,000, $1,500 and $750. Individual tickets are $100.
