The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a flash flood watch for South Mississippi through Saturday evening.
A low pressure system is moving towards the Coast from Texas, and heavy rain is expected through Saturday evening. Meteorologists expect two to four inches of rain through Saturday, and some areas could get more.
The watch is in effect for Hancock, Harrison, Jackson and Pearl River counties, as well as portions of southeast Louisiana.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Residents are urged to monitor weather conditions closely.
