The National Weather Service has canceled a tornado watch for South Mississippi. The watch was in effect for Harrison and Jackson counties until 11 a.m.
However, strong storms are forecast to move through the area, with most of the heavy rain ending this morning.
The thunderstorms are headed east at 45 mph and could produce one to three inches of rain. Because of the expected rainfall, the flash flood watch has been extended until 9 a.m.
