The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a flash flood watch for parts of South Mississippi until 7 p.m. tonight.
The flood watch is for Harrison, Hancock, Jackson and Pearl River counties.
Heavy rain began falling in South Mississippi just after midnight, with two to three inches expected this morning.
There is a 70 percent chance of rain today, a 50 percent chance tonight and a 50 percent chance Thursday. Easter weekend will be sunny and warm.
