The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the flash flood watch for Harrison and Jackson counties until noon Friday.
Some areas have received nearly 10 inches of rain, and an additional two-to-four inches is expected through Friday morning.
The storm system currently is stalled over Oklahoma, but is expected to begin moving Friday morning, bringing drier conditions to South Mississippi.
