PASCAGOULA -- The state Health Department drastically cut back operations in Jackson County this month, essentially closing the office on Washington Avenue north of Ocean Springs.
Regional officials told the Board of Supervisors today the reason was because supervisors cut Jackson County funding to the local Health Department operations by 40 percent.
The satellite office is now open only Wednesdays and Thursdays for very limited services. Supervisors said they plan to restore some of the cuts. Read more in Tuesday's Sun Herald.
