State trooper force nearly doubled in South Mississippi

South Mississippi soon will have twice the number of state troopers, alleviating a manpower shortage that has lasted more than a decade.

State Public Safety Commissioner Albert Santa Cruz today said 20 new state troopers will be on the road in the six southern counties after their field training ends in March.
