The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a hard freeze warning for the three coastal counties through Friday morning.
The warning goes into effect at 10 p.m. today and ends at 8 a.m. Friday.
A hard freeze occurs when the temperatures fall below 32 degrees for several hours. Under these conditions, unprotected pipes and plants could freeze. Also, outdoor pets should be brought inside.
Temperatures likely will be below freezing on the Coast on Friday night also.
