D'Iberville shelter opens

A cold-weather shelter will be open tonight in D'Iberville for anyone who needs a warm place to spend the night.

Windy Swetman, a member of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, said this afternoon he decided to keep the shelter open.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s tonight but gradually will warm up Friday and over the weekend.

The shelter will be at the D'Iberville Civic Center at 10395 Automall Parkway and will remain open until 8 a.m. Friday.

Swetman said the shelter may reopen next week depending on weather conditions.

Anyone who needs transportation or has any questions should call 435-8269 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or 326-4718.
