Jackson County supervisors vote for traditional jail

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors voted to go with a traditional, brick, dormitory-style jail for about $28 million adjacent to the current jail on Telephone Road in Pascagoula.

The vote was split, 3-2.

The board was choosing between the traditional design and a composite, pre-fabricated design that was found to cost about $4 million less to build.
