Biloxi Police currently are searching for two inmates at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Harrison County Supervisor Windy Swetman said the two escaped about 8:20 p.m. from the recreational yard.
Swetman said there were five males in the yard when one of them began climbing the fence, which is against the rules. A correctional officer was trying to get him to get off the fence when the two other juveniles escaped.
"It's obvious to us this was a planned event," Swetman said.
The two who escaped climbed through holes they made in the chain link fence and then climbed over a 6-foot privacy fence.
The two were 16 and 17.
"Both of the individuals have been in and out of juvenile detention for years," Swetman said.

He added that corrections officers interviewed the other three males in the yard to see if they could determine what happened.
