Oil has been found in the Mississippi Sound in the pass between Horn and Ship islands, DMR director Bill Walker said today.
Oil also has been spotted 11 miles south of Petit Bois Island.
Walker said skimmer and boom boats from the Joint Command Center are working on cleaning up the oil and is hopeful it can be contained before making landfall.
