Sound Off: Bus driver concerned after parent brings gun to child’s stop

Educate me

Please explain how charter schools can have their curriculum, do not have to abide by the same rules as public schools, teachers can use new methods of instruction and receive public monies.

Wild west

I’ve driven a school bus for 14 years. Friday, for the first time in my life, a parent came to meet his child at the bus stop while wearing a gun. I had never before seen this man whose fingers literally trickled over his holster like John Wayne. I don’t know if he was trying to intimidate a student on the bus. I don’t know if he was trying to intimidate me. There were approximately 30 children on the bus at the time. All I could think was, “If this guy takes a step toward my bus, I’ve got to hit the gas.” This behavior is not necessary. It may be legal, but that doesn’t mean it’s right.

Two choices

At this point there a two real choices. If you wake up on Nov. 9 and Hilary Clinton is president, it is too late and when you wake up a year from then and the push toward a socialist country is continuing forward, not much you can do. Then a few years later when the far left Supreme Court is verifying all of the socialist decisions, well you can’t even change that with the next election.

Hero

To the fans of Brett Favre, he is a hero. If you are not fan, get over it. He is still a hero.

With her

To: “Pretty good”: Thank you for informing us that Hillary Clinton revealed her tax returns as all presidential candidates have done for decades. I was excited to read she gave over $1 million to charity. Now, if Trump would reveal his own tax returns, but that won’t happen. Guess why? He is even more about self-promotion and accumulation of personal wealth. He has bragged he can avoid paying taxes, too. Shameful! That leaves us taxpaying citizens to fund our military, schools, meat inspections, highways, etc., etc., etc.! Be sure to vote blue. I’m with her!

Clean up on I-110

I-110 is like a welcome mat for visitors to Biloxi and D’Iberville. But I-110 is unsightly with trash and debris, including a rolled up rug there more than a year. Don’t use the excuse that it is up to MDOT to clean up. I-110 is vital to first impressions. The cities of Biloxi and D’Iberville should take on the responsibility to keep I-110 clean as a welcome mat, instead of spoiling an otherwise picturesque view of our Coast.
