What makes a hero?
I didn’t write about Brett Favre, but I do agree that you should do something that contributes to society to be called a hero. I was a paramedic and a U.S. Marine. Nobody’s putting me in a hall of fame, and I don’t want to be. What I have is a great sense of satisfaction knowing many people are alive today directly due to my actions. That will be what I leave behind when I die. If he is happy with what he leaves behind, good for him. But is hero the right title?
There’s still time
To “Unconstitutional”: While it is the constitutional duty of the Senate to approve or disapprove of Supreme Court nominees, there is nothing that says when they must accomplish this. The Democrats make it look like they must do it now, but they do not!
Have they failed?
If you think our constitutional and political leaders are failing the average American, guess who defined “two simple truths about the liberty of a democratic people” by saying:
“The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. The second truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if its business system does not provide employment and produce and distribute goods in such a way as to sustain an acceptable standard of living.”
It was Franklin D. Roosevelt, April 29. 1938. Time to vote career politicians out of office.
Imagine an America where mega-rich people paid their fair share of income taxes and immigrant workers didn’t have to come do the jobs others refuse to do. Just imagine the productive and prosperous society ours could be.
I recently bought some dog treats from a USA company brand and after reading the bag, I discovered that the treats were made in China. How shameful! We need a change in policy to create jobs in the USA! Doing so might help employ some on government assistance. I challenge you to find a product that is made in the USA!
According to their newly released 2015 tax returns, Hillary and Bill Clinton earned $10.6 million last year, which is pretty good when you mostly give speeches. They gave $1,042,000 to charity, but 96 percent of it was directed to the Clinton Family Foundation. It seems like everything they do is about self-promotion and the accumulation of personal wealth.
