Sound Off for July 27: Please enforce cellphone law

First impressions

I do hope all businesses are aware that the telephone is perhaps the main entrance to your business. If the person who answers your phone has a squeaky, high-pitched or muffled voice, or speaks ungrammatically, it’s possible you could lose a potential client or order. There are a large number of elderly folks and coming up behind are the baby boomers, who are hard of hearing from listening to loud music. Phone your office and listen to your business representative.

Enforce the law

Our police officers have much on their plates, but why can’t traffic enforcement stop cellphone violators on U.S. 90? If a $100 fine is not worth stopping or preventing usage, then raise the fine to $500.

Thanks!

I went to Sam’s Ocean Basket for takeout. I left my wallet on the counter. They actually came to my home to give my wallet to me. Not only was the food good, but the people are special also. Thank you!

Vote!

Vote in November. It is vitally important that every eligible voter in America cast their vote in the presidential election regardless of party affiliation. This year we are facing the most crucial election of our lives. Many do not like any of the candidates running and decline to vote for either. This would be a huge mistake. I guarantee you that one of the candidates will be elected regardless of your stance. This election is really about the future of our country. This election will determine the future of the Supreme Court and therefore the future of the Constitution. This will determine the direction of our country for the future. Whatever your leanings, don’t stay home. Get out and vote your conscious.

Stay positive

The Hillary bashing Sound Offs make me more determined to vote for her than ever. Use your Sound Offs to express why you are voting for someone, not to bash another candidate.

Stop it

After reading “It was a safety call,” I am in disbelief. Just because a patient wanders off does not mean they are dangerous. The employee let them know it was a toy truck. We could see it was a toy truck. And your bomb comment is so far-fetched. All said and done, why was the employee shot? We need to stop all this madness in your dialogue.

How can you?

To all you “vote carefully” people out there, listen up, and that means you, too, Sun Herald. I know Donald Trump is far from perfect, but he stands far above Hillary Clinton. How can you people even think about considering Hillary Clinton to serve this nation as our president?
