Sound Off for July 12: Thanks for doing the right thing
Two-faced
The only coin that you could put Hillary’s face on would be a double-sided coin
The right thing
To the person whose purse was found and turned in at Hobby Lobby and attributed that to “God being alive and among us” — I’m an atheist, and I certainly would have turned your purse in. I don’t need the promise of heaven or the threat of eternal damnation to do the right thing.
All lives . . .
That teenagers were in front of the Biloxi Visitor’s Center today with signs shouting “All Lives Matter.” These are the folks who everyone should be listening to.
Claim your keys
We had Bible School at Nugent United United Methodist Church last month (June). Someone left their car keys. If you read this, you can call Nugent United Methodist Church 228-832-6145 and describe and claim your keys. Thank you for coming to our church’s children’s Bible school program. We welcome everyone to our church.
Love all
Jesus died for us because “all lives matter!” If we could only do as He said: “Love one another as I love you!”
Balanced?
I thought the Sun Herald was supposed to be balanced, as far as politics were concerned. Today’s Sound Off had two Pro Trump/Anti Hillary opinions and no Anti Trump/Pro Hillary opinions. There was also an anti-President Obama opinion. You can’t tell me that everyone in this area is Republican.
Mute, too
I agree wholeheartedly with the author of mute. Every time Paul Ryan and Donald Trump come on the evening news I mute until they are gone. By the way, the media doesn’t have to make Trump look bad. He does a good job of that on his own.
Great leader
Chief Papania quoted from AA’s Big Book, from Scripture and Frederick Douglass, among others, and received a standing ovation at Sunday’s community prayer service. Gulfport is fortunate to have his leadership.
Spread kindness
It’s contagious! What? Kindness to others. Over the last several days, I have been shown numerous Acts of Kindness and others have, too. What a delightful experience — one I am sharing as well. Whether it’s as simple as sharing a smile, holding a door open, saying hello or even thank you, inviting someone to go ahead of you — all of these show kindness, respect and love for one another. Thank you and let’s all join in.
