Thanks all around

When I read the letter from “Thanks For Meal” in Wednesday’s column, I was truly touched. I am the proud daughter of a WWII veteran and I have been so fortunate as to witness this many times firsthand. My dad and I run errands just about every day and people always approach him to shake his hand and thank him for his service. In addition, I can’t count the number of times we have gone out to eat and go to pay the bill, only to be told it had already been paid. This brings tears to our eyes every time it happens. So yes! Thank you not only to our veterans but also to those who recognize their service.

Not a sight to see

At my advanced age, I am glad I will not see Hillary on the face of a coin.

Time for a fence?

The revitalization going on in Gulfport looks fabulous! Don’t you think it is time for the harbor to put a screen on the fence where all the trucks and equipment are stored next to U.S. 90? With Chiquita returning, that will mean more trucks stored there. I am surprised there hasn’t been a complaint about the eyesore. I am also surprised the harbor hasn’t found a better place for the trucks.

All life matters

Schools need to teach children in first grade or before about obeying law enforcement. Parents don’t think about it or have time or take time? Children do not obey like children in a different time who knew punishment would come. If children learn young about consequences from a bad attitude or actions, it will save their life later. All life matters.

Heartfelt thanks

On the evening of June 18, I made a quick stop at Hobby Lobby. As I was shopping, I put down my purse to look at something. When I got to the front of the store to check out, I realized I did not have my purse. Some kind person had found it and turned it in. I would like to tell this special person — thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! God is alive and among us. Amen!!

Bridge for sale

For the life of me, I just cannot fathom anyone saying anything noble about Hillary Clinton and her quest for the presidency! If this last FBI and DOJ miscarriage of justice does not convince them, then please come see me — I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you!

No trouble here

People like me never cause a fuss with anyone, because I’m a poor fighter and a slow runner. It’s the tough and the swift you can look to for trouble.

God is here

Not seeing God in Sound Off? God is being noticed. His name is being called on now. He is never changing. God needs to be back in our lives. God bless America and all its people!
