Sound Off for March 11
To the lovely young ladies selling Girl Scout cookies at Winn-Dixie on Saturday, thank you. It's refreshing to see the Scouts themselves selling cookies.
Worth saving
My lovely bride can quickly put in their place all those high and mighty words of wisdom in your paper. She cuts out and saves only the recipes.
My thoughts
I have found that a liberal is someone who wants me to think like him. As a conservative, I just want him to think and weigh actions against consequences. Then, after coming to his senses, perhaps he will think like me.
Failed your base
Republican establishment: Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are not the problem to be dismissed. They are symptoms of a problem that you have caused; not listening and responding to the needs of your base. You have promised them many things to get elected but have failed to deliver those promises.
Shop around
For the individual who was complaining about the windpool rates, there is anticipation of reduced rates in the future as well as several other "wind-only" insurance companies now available on the Coast reflecting. In addition, there are many insurance carriers today who include wind and hail coverage in their homeowner policy. I encourage you to shop around for rate relief.
Obey the signs
Signs in Gautier mean nothing. Speed limits, stop signs, yield signs, no littering, etc., as well as traffic lights. Many people disregard them in every respect. Many of them are damaged, on the ground or pointed in wrong direction. When none are erected to indicate the law, many people will violate the law. Today, I visited the animal shelter on Audubon Drive. Both sides of the street was strewn with litter. I counted 29 soft drink and beer cans littering both sides of the street. I am sure I missed a few. There is not one "no littering" sign posted on either side.
Toxic smoke
Thunderous applause for "Non Smoker." If you think the "Left lane" Sound Off debate went on forever, just you wait. You've awakened the smokers who will fight for their right to invade our good health, our right to clean air and lower medical costs. Yes, I understand that the horrible, year-snatching habit of smoking is not easy to drop cold turkey. I have always been at a loss as to how any individual can respect and love the years that they have while taking a drag of a cigarette. Aside from the nauseating odor, so many smokers throw their butts anywhere they please, causing litter on top of death in the air.
