Sound Off for Feb. 26
Legislators have become pseudo-educators, businessmen are becoming reality show grade politicians, and once-intelligent voters have become a mindless mass fueled by anger at their own choices. What a nightmare!
Watch out for fees
A cash card looks like a credit card. Some folks who are completing income tax for us are recommending that we get a cash card. It is best for us to have our refunds sent to our bank account. Only get the cash card if you do not have a bank account. Why? It is costly to use. Each time you use it you pay a fee.
No surprises here
It should come as no surprise to Democrats that Bernie Sanders is so popular with their base. Bernie is proof that they have been successful in promoting their progressive socialist agenda. The Republicans should not be surprised that Trump is so popular. He is the result of them failing to support the voters who put them in office.
Know what's what
Democratic Socialists believe in our capitalist system. They also believe that our government should step in to correct any harm done to the American people by a private company. For example: knowingly putting harmful chemicals into our foods. Marxist Socialism is much like Communism. No candidate is advocating Marxist Socialism. Please do not confuse the two.
People's choice
It seems that the Mississippi legislators are wasting taxpayers money mulling over the state flag. It's the state flag and the people of Mississippi should vote whether it should be changed or remain.
Lies, all lies
Dogs have been trained to detect many things -- explosives, drugs, cadavers, etc. It's too bad that Hillary's "lapdog media" have not been trained to detect lies!
We need more laws?
To control traffic we need more laws. To control illegal drugs we need more laws. To control guns we need more laws, ad nauseam. Here's a quote in the paper about the Michigan shootings, "There are no laws you could put into place to stop what had happened." Those intent on breaking the law will never be deterred by laws; they will find a way to circumvent all laws regardless of the penalty. The universal laws for mankind were written in stone and given to us many years ago with the severest of penalties for breaking them. They are called the Ten Commandments!
Drives me crazy
I can easily tolerate the driver who practices caution and courtesy at the four-way stop, by taking his time. It's the premature driver that ejects into the intersection before its time who annoys me.
