Sound Off for Feb. 25

While enduring the fiasco of infrastructure work in east Biloxi I can't help but wonder how the Golden gate bridge circa 1933/1937 took only four years to complete without our current level of technology. It's been over 10 years since Hurricane Katrina and look at Biloxi's so-called progress with this on-land project.

Traffic issue

Now that the left lane fiasco has been thoroughly discussed, how about the four-way stops? Three of us were waiting for yokel local to move. She was probably waiting for the red lights to turn green. After being honked and encouraged to go she finally moved and unclogged the backup. It might also be helpful to tell those hesitant drivers that when they finally get the idea to move, to watch out for the driver who thinks he has the right-of-way wherever he goes.

Thanks for the stories

Thank you for printing Dawn Franklin's story. Thankfully, I've never experienced such abuse, so have not been able to understand why a woman would continue to live in those conditions. Dawn's story shed light on that. It was very hard to read the account of her last beating. God bless her for having the courage to tell her story. Hopefully, it will encourage other women to tell someone and get the help they need.

Why I like Trump

I like Trump because he tells it like it is, does not owe the lobby groups anything, and he is the only one that had the guts to say "going to Iraq was very bad mistake." I like he is not afraid of Fox News talking heads.

A good cause

I found your $20 bill stuck under my left front tire. You did not lose it because I know that you would want it to go to a good cause, so I will put it in the collection in church Sunday for you. I will add another $20 of mine and say a prayer for God to be as close to you as he is to me.

Baby talk

I would prefer to listen to a good Southern accent rather than what I consider "baby talk" being used by young ladies of today. This is especially true when listening to the news on television.

Which is worse?

I am weary of reading about another gun going off. Mothers and fathers, where are you when your kid picks up a gun and leaves the house? Yes, let them hunt but then take the gun and lock it up. What is worse? Finding out that your child got shot or your child was the shooter?
