Sound Off for Jan. 13
How about a Neighborhood Market at I-10 Exit 28 (Long Beach)? There are so many in the Gulfport-Biloxi area -- come on over our way.
Representative?
Apparently president Melton Harris of the Jackson County board does not understand representative government. He tells us that "his meeting is not to be swayed by public comment." Yeah, just who do these pesky voters think they are? Perhaps he would like to be swayed by say astrological charts, not public opinion. Maybe those charts swayed him while the hospital collapsed on his watch.
Change, indeed
Those nasty and hateful Republicans are responsible for all of the countries economic woes? Give me a break. How can anyone be so closed-minded? Quit drinking the Kool-Aid. Your leadership has attempted to "change America" -- for the worst! Thankfully this is about to change.
Background checks
A mass stabbing at an Alabama Goodwill has me thinking we need background checks on the purchase of all sharp objects.
Know when to walk away
I remember in 1993, when Donald Trump wanted to develop in South Mississippi. Read or listen to the audio version of his book, "The Art of the Deal," and it will explain why he backed out. To Trump, everything is a negotiation, and you have to always be prepared to walk out, even at the very last minute.
Bad programming
Two new shows on television. One about Lucifer, portrayed as misunderstood, and another about a liquor swilling, foul-mouthed angel. Both involve back-handed denigrations of God and Christianity.
Stop the boom boom
In answer to "No fireworks," we over here in Orange Grove, Gulfport, have the same problem. Fireworks are banned in the city but no one does anything when you call. If only they would cruise the subdivisions every hour or so. It felt like a war zone as fireworks have gotten bigger and louder. I feel for senior citizens as well as pets. Something has got to be done and soon.
Something to think about
You folks with that beautiful horse, grazing in that beautiful rail fenced pasture, don't you know that horses are herd animals? Don't you know that they get lonely? Don't you know they can develop phobias when kept that way? Don't you know that situation can affect their physical as well as mental health? Why not adopt another homeless rescue horse to keep it company? Even a low-maintenance burro would provide needed companionship for your horse. Please think about it.
