Oil prices are still dropping. It is down to $32.92 a barrel this morning. Gas and diesel have gone down considerably. Can anyone tell me why oil being sold by the quart and in 5-gallon containers has not gone down in price?
Focus on the home front
Gov. Phil Bryant and other Republican legislators fight everything President Obama does. Why don't they spend that time fighting and investing in Mississippians? Latest news update: Mississippi's schools ranked second-to-last in national rating. The governor and legislators need to do their job on the home front. This been going on too long under their watch.
It's saner to check
How can any sane person be against stronger background checks to buy something whose only purpose is to kill?
Quit wasting time, taxes
Why is Obama's veto of the repeal of Obamacare and Planned Parenthood breaking news? The breaking news should be that Congress is wasting time and our money preparing the bill. Dummies, cut off the funding.
This is not normal
The country I want back is one that has 4-5 percent GDP growth instead of 2 percent. I want an economic recovery that should have been over six years ago instead of a minimal recovery that will flow right into the next recession. Your thinking is abnormal if you think that's normal.
Not so big a deal
Why does everyone insist on making a big deal out of a little stock market blip? The S&P500 was substantially lower Aug. 15 than it has been this week. And the Dow is NOT the stock market, but a VERY narrow collection of a very few stocks. What effect do these hiccups have on your 401(k)? None. Unless you're cashing in on the day the market is down. Those retiring next week, next month or next year are totally unaffected by today's market level.
The truth is out there
I see everyone is so concerned with our president using executive orders. He does not govern by these orders. Come on people, Google "executive orders by presidents." You will find Obama is on the low end of presidents issuing these orders. Also, expanding background checks on guns being sold is not the same as coming after your guns.
Don't hold your breath
To the person who called the police New Year's Eve about the fireworks scaring their animals: Don't hold your breath on getting action. I have been calling our Biloxi police for almost three years now about someone who does it all year, almost every night and terrorizes my father, who has dementia.
