Sound Off for Jan. 8
Jackson County supervisors should listen to the people. Thank you for shedding light on Jackson County's serious governmental problem. Voters elected two new supervisors. With exposure like your editorial of Jan. 6, perhaps the balance of the board will change their ways or they should find themselves replaced at the next election. We can only hope. Thanks again for your paper's diligent efforts to inform residents of shortcomings in Jackson County government and pubic services.
Let's help them
I visited the Humane Society today to deliver a bag of blankets that I had purchased. My heart is torn out. The most beautiful, sweet and loving faces I saw, wagging their tails waiting for a hug. I reached out and petted each and every one as I passed by their concrete cages, crying and praying for some help and forever homes for them. They just want to be loved; they are full of kisses. Most are mid age, some younger, some seniors, but all lonely, sad faces. Let's encourage adoptions to our friends, any source you have -- use it because they need us. Once someone's best friend, now homeless, abandoned and unloved. Together we can turn this around.
The next step
Thank you, Sun Herald, for the good articles informing the readers of the status of the oyster reef harvest near Pass Christian. Now how about doing articles on what happened to the oyster reefs of Biloxi Bay and what it would take to rejuvenate them?
I see a need
I think a good use for the Restore money would be to install lighting along U.S. 90 from Biloxi to Pass Christian. There are pockets of the highway that are lit and it really helps us old people see.
Thank you for honesty
To the couple who came all the way down from Orange Grove to Courthouse Road just to give me back my wallet that I had just misplaced: Thank you, and may God bless you. This honesty and good character is one of the very best reasons why I love my Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Why is that?
Here is a thought: Gas prices went up big time; so did everything else claiming fuel cost. Now that it is tanking, no sign of prices going down. Strange!
Are you being taken?
"Take our country back." I hear this campaign slogan over and over and over. If you feel like something has been taken from you, name it. Then, name who or what took it. If after that, you still think the sky is falling, stop drinking the Kool-Aid.
Fireworks and the ill
I see you can put Sound Offs in when fireworks affect pets, but not when they affect sick people.
