Sound Off for Dec. 31
Great column in Wednesday's Sun Herald by Thomas Sowell. One of the key sentences, "What is new is the growing acceptance of lying as no big deal by smug sophisticates, so long as their lies advance their political causes."
Look into this
Mississippi based company C-Spire, a cellular company has started wiring cities in Mississippi for high-speed Internet and for cable television as well. I recently asked one of the representatives what needs to happen to have a city wired. The rep said we need to ask our city councils to put in requests to C-Spire to get the ball rolling. To the City Council of Biloxi: Please consider this as a request to at least look into it.
No protesters
Gulf Coast uses the logo "Hospitality State" and 30,000 are planning to hear Trump speak. Protesters shouldn't be allowed in our state to interfere with any public business. A bunch holding signs wanting to be in spotlight is not inviting. It adds no beauty. It is very bad publicity for the Gulf Coast and takes away from the beauty of U.S. 90, which is our draw. Protesters should pay fees for each a permit. You start allowing sign carriers, and it will ruin our state. No one is happy with everything. Gulf Coast can't cater to all people, all the time. I don't like spring break. I'm not wasting my time protesting.
