Sound Off

Sound Off for Dec. 24

Dear Santa

I would like Santa to bring me a horse and buggy so I can drive on Gulfport streets without tearing up my car.

Way to go, Palazzo

I am very proud of Rep. Palazzo for voting against the recent spending bill. We elected Republicans last November to put a stop to this insane spending by our federal government. Most of them failed to show any backbone and voted with the Democrats. What a sad state of affairs.

Great display

Congratulations regarding our local American Humanist Association's superb contribution to the Harrison County Nativity display. It is non-confrontational, which is consistent with the "spirit" of the season. Also, it very appropriately demonstrates the geophysical rationale responsible for joyful wintertime holidays in the Northern Hemisphere. Unfortunately, the north/south axis tilt in the display is incorrect in that it is configured for a summer time frame. However, the message of interfaith/nonfaith harmony is clear and appreciated (by many of us). Thank you for the uplifting, unifying and seasonally appropriate contribution to the winter solstice and everything with which it is associated.

Wrong

How much more abuse can Donald Trump dish out? How can we as decent people let him continue to verbally abuse anyone he opposes? I was a middle school teacher, and we would not let a student talk about others as Trump does. It is just wrong.

Out of the woods

It is time for the Gulf Coast to build a homeless shelter for all the homeless people living on the Gulf Coast. They need somewhere they can stay 24/7. They can have something constructive for them to do during the day. They have homeless shelters in other cities and they work great. Why can't they use some of the BP settlement money to build a home for our homeless? They need help 24/7 not just on cold nights. Let's get them out of the woods.

Keep it up

The hatchet job being carried out by the news media on Republican candidates is backfiring on them, as the polls indicate the two candidates who speak out for what the people want and show no fear of the media are doing the best. Keep it up so the people can get a president who loves our country.

No problem here

Yeah, so you don't want taxpayers to foot the bill for Trump's visit? If it were Sanders or Clinton I'm sure you'd have no problem then would you? The government uses my tax dollars for many things I wish it wouldn't, but you don't see me Sounding Off in the paper about it.
