Sound Off for Dec. 13
Amtrak or local carrier, it doesn't matter, but to have commuter rail service from Mobile to New Orleans and back a handful of times per day sounds economically feasible. Imagine taking the train from here for a Saints game in the Crescent City or a trip to Mobile's Exploreum, or dinner or music or a meeting, without worrying about driving or parking.
Liquid logic
The thinking process and logic of my dear friends on the right shows clear signs of substance abuse. I'm pretty sure they've been drinking the Kool-aid.
Stop the water leak
Water has been continuously leaking across Beach Boulevard between 31st and 32nd Avenues in Gulfport for more than six weeks. Why cannot it be fixed?
No to killing oaks
Thank you, Mayor Hewes, for your planned veto of the council's vote to allow the cutting of several Live oaks in Gulfport. The insidious loss of our signature trees is one problem. Another is the awkward intersection of Pass Road and 28th Street is already busy and confusing. It would only be made worse by the addition of more concrete and more cars trying to pull onto and off the road.
Ask and ye shall receive
Ask for conservative leadership at the polls. Receive third-world health care for those voters. Conservatism has a reputation to uphold.
Christianity everywhere
I want my Christian religious symbols everywhere that anyone wishes to put them! Are we going to put up with this crock by not letting our voices be heard, loud and clear?
Not just for Christians
We are a secular nation with religious freedom, as the founding fathers wanted. The courthouse is built and run as part of our government, with public money -- money from many who hold different views, which is their right. Let's hope we remain a secular nation so our great-grandchildren are not forced to support a religion they don't want.
Men's lives don't matter?
Newsflash for Congressman Palazzo. Combat is dangerous for EVERYBODY.
Keep US safe for all faiths
Our nation is build on the principle of separation of church and state for a very good reason. The founding fathers didn't want the people in power to be able to dictate who or what you should be worshipping. The future is unknown, but you do want your grandchildren to have freedom to worship as they choose.
Christmas spirited away
If you get a yard sculpture for Christmas of two swordfish jumping and crossing swords, I hope you enjoy it. Your little darling stole it from my yard to give to you.
