Sound Off for Dec. 9

Routine measures

I find it ridiculous that city, state and federal offices in the state of Mississippi are not audited either randomly or at least every two years. It keeps honest people honest and smokes out people who should not be in a position of trust.

Very funny!

Tonight, Donald Trump called for a total ban on Muslims entering the U.S .... #%£¥@&,hawheehaa! Excuse me? I was laughing so hard, I stroked the wrong keys. What's that? I think I can hear the justices at the Supreme Court laughing also.

Great display

We are tourists here and would like to thank the Hancock County tourism group for the spectacular Christmas light display in Bay St. Louis. Everyone should go see it. The snow flakes are magical. Thank you!

Worst calls ever

I was a ticket holder for almost 25 years with the Saints. Yesterday's game was the worst that I have ever seen in my life. The officials wanted to make sure Carolina won that game. You know when the coach of the Saints gets that mad you know something is wrong. He said that it was the most awful calls by the referees he had ever seen. It is something to try to win a game and also have to fight the referees.

Way to go!

It occurs to me after installing the new Digital Converter from Cable One the channel guide in the Herald may be the only way to tell a viewer what is on television and whether it is new, rerun, or whatever. Between the comics, crosswords, and now the TV guide, the Herald is keeping me aboard. Way to go!

Gate issues

Keesler AFB is trying to reduce the wait time during peak traffic hours. I have heard that they have increased manpower during these times, but they are also weighing other options. I suggest they take some of that extra manpower and open the Judge Sekul gate for incoming traffic for an hour or two in the morning and for outgoing traffic only in the afternoon. This gate was utilized in this manner some years back. I think this would be a big help.

Shameless sore losers

The same board of supervisors that failed to properly address the debacle of the county hospital crumbling under their feet now elects to go forward with a gigantic tax break for Chevron instead of leaving it for the new board that comes into office in about 20 days to decide upon. Such huge matters are most always deferred by outgoing boards as a matter of courtesy and actual responsibility, because it is the new board that will have to deal with the huge consequences.
