Sound Off for Nov. 21
During the road construction at Pass Road and Fernwood in Biloxi, I saw a man turn left from Fernwood, then go through two cones to head west, both illegal acts. I also see accidents on that road almost every day. When are people going to wake up and realize that it's better to be late getting somewhere that it is to arrive dead.
Take lesson from them
Seems to me that Russia and France are doing the job in Syria against ISIS that the U.S. should have done long ago instead of slapping them on the wrist.
Colors, pain in common
Has everyone noticed our state flag shares the same colors with the French flag? The colors are blue, white and red, the same as ours. We share their pain at this time and admire the fact they "woke up" as we did after 9/11. Viva la France!
Thanks for honesty
We left a package containing perfume in the JC Penney store Nov. 19. We were blessed that an honest and responsible person took the package to a customer service desk. We wish to thank that person and offer our blessings for that person. You are a person of honor. Thank you very much for being such a wonderful individual. Our granddaughter will now have her Christmas present because of your outstanding character. God bless you always.
The money mystery
Where is the money coming from to pay for these Syrian refugees? Is Congress planning to take money from Social Security which really belongs to those of us who have been paying into it for years as they keep telling us the systems is going broke? Maybe they will take it out of the VA hospital funding or money that could house the homeless veterans. Maybe it will be taken from the military service budget.
'X' the Roman numerals
Can we finally dispense with using the Roman numerals when identifying a particular Super Bowl? It was fine for the first 10, I suppose. Now it is ridiculous. Just name it in the year it is played. The next will be Super Bowl 2016.
Simple response
Turning our backs on refugees is both un-American and un-Christian. It's as simple as that.
Pack with popcorn
Send military people their favorite cookies packed in loose popcorn in a box lined with a large garbage bag. Popcorn cushions and prevents staleness. Merry Christmas.
