Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

White House UFC

For someone who says he needs a billion dollars to beef up White House security, it seems just a tad hypocritical for Donald Trump to hold an event there that will let at least four thousand connoisseurs of violence on the grounds. The only way this tacky spectacle could get any more idiotic would be to have a concession stand serving beer. I’m sure the Secret Service can’t wait for this to begin.

Blocked ditches

Gulfport has had all year to make sure ditches are unblocked. Many are overgrown and full of trash. If we paid as much attention to our neighborhoods as we do fluffing the beach sand, we wouldn’t have as much flooding in our streets.

Biggest issues

If you think immigration and transgender are our biggest issues, you have been listening to the wrong platforms. Affordable healthcare, food, housing, gas, and unnecessary military unprovoked attacks are what has our attention. I don’t know any transgender people and ICE is still alive and well, terrorizing immigrants.

Scavengers

Our Mississippi Power bill will increase by $10 because of the data center. We gave billionaires a tax cut and now instead of trickling down that money, they are siphoning power and water that we are paying the bill.

Drone warfare

Drone warfighting videos from Hezbollah/Israel forces in Lebanon and Russian/Ukrainian forces in Ukraine show how clearly the modern battlefield has changed. Drone warfare against mechanized vehicles requires brand-new tactics that the USA is only now learning. A ground invasion of Iran, whose mountainous terrain favors drones, would be very difficult.

What was that?

It’s the same thing every year. Southern Miss plays great during the regular season and then lays a big ol’ egg once the tournament comes around.

Again?

How many times does Southern Miss have to hold a regoinal before it figures out how to beat a No. 4 seed?
