Reflecting pool
Hey Donald Trump — sure, let’s turn the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool into a VIP resort feature. Because nothing says “historic landmark” like a 2,000-foot backyard project with branding and gold lounge chairs. Engineers designed it. The National Park Service maintains it. But why bother with that when he’s got “tremendous upgrades” and poolside expertise? Next: a lazy river around Lincoln and cabanas on the Mall with golden lounge chairs. At this point it’s not policy — it’s a late-night infomercial with better lighting. Meanwhile, the rest of the chaos in the world keeps … happening.
Whew
And here I was worried that there were many serious things going on in the world. Turns out, our president has time to focus on building an arch nobody asked for and resurfacing the Lincoln Memorial pool. Great to see that we’re focused on the truly important things.
Democrats
Do Democrats ever stop and actually look at the things President Trump proposes, or do they just instinctively reject everything he says?
Logic
The reason Democrats try to block, block, block everything President Trump tries to do is because everything he tries is pretty much bad, bad, bad, and not in the interest of making America great again.
Blue wave?
I keep hearing all this chatter about an impending blue wave. Here’s what’s going to happen: About two months before the election, a bunch of national Democrats are going to start talking about social and racial issues and all those votes you’re expecting are going to disappear in a flash.
You’re fired
Truth Social’s CEO is fired because the media outlet lost $1 billion. Could it be the title, which posts the opposite of truth, lies?
Enough
I have no idea which I’m more tired of: Gambling commercials or drug commercials. You can’t watch anything on TV without being bombarded by one or both.
Jackpots
I enjoy reading the stories about lucky players who win big at our local casinos. I can’t help but wonder, though, if they actually come out ahead once all is said and done.
Quiet
There was a lot of chatter about the police presence and decreased number of Black Spring Break visitors. The one thing I haven’t heard, though: Business owners complaining. If our local businesses were suffering from lost revenue, you’d think we’d have heard something by now.
SPLC
Would you look at that? The Southern Poverty Law Center is in hot water. Thank you, Trump administration for working to drain the swamp.
Trust nobody
Sen Fetterman is acting like a Republican. Marjorie Taylor Greene is acting like a Democrat. The Southern Poverty Law Center is accused of shadiness. It’s almost like the only thing anyone in politics cares about is self-preservation.
Pay attention
The Southern Poverty Law Center case is one of the stupidest in DOJ history. SPLC wasn’t paying the Klan, they were paying informants to who were helping to take down the Klan.
