Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

Is it fiction?

We’re in an era where movie monologues pass for scripture (Sec. Hegseth quoting Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction), apocalyptic threats count as diplomacy, and power speaks in myth because myth doesn’t require accountability (President Trump vs. Everyone). Governance has been replaced by vibes, restraint by certainty, and seriousness by volume. The unsettling part isn’t that it sounds ridiculous — it’s that everyone involved insists this is leadership.

Dumbfounded

I’m just dumbfounded every time I read a comment by a Trump supporter that calls for an end to harmful rhetoric that fails to see or accept that Donald Trump is the worst and most prolific abuser of words “in the history of our country.”

It’s working

You might not like it, but it sure seems like President Trump’s hard line with Iran is paying off.

Winning

Winning at the border. Winning in Iran. Winning in Venezuela. Soon to be winning in Cuba. That’s what we voted for.

Democrats

Until Democrats realize that being factually correct is not a substitute for political ruthlessness, they will continue to win the argument, while losing the country.

Killer quiz

Whew! Kat Bergeron’s quiz on Sunday on our Coast’s history was a killer — interesting, educational and hard. I had fun, but I’m embarrassed; I thought I had a better grasp of local lore. Thank you, Kat, for a well-researched and very challenging article.

Thanks, Kat

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for Kat Bergeron’s wonderful 25-question quiz on Coast history. It’s truly refreshing to see something so engaging and enjoyable, especially given the amount of negativity and unpleasant news stories circulating lately. Kat’s quiz brought a welcome sense of positivity and lightheartedness to the conversation, and I’m sure many readers felt the same. While I know some people might have their own opinions about the answers, I believe the quiz was a great way to highlight our region’s history in a fun and nonpolitical manner. Thank you, Kat, for your continued dedication and creativity. Please keep up the great work.
