Crying wolf
Obviously, Donald Trump is not familiar with the fable of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. What kind of credibility does he think he has with Iran, or any other country, when he continually practices The Art of the Bluff? Pretend tough guy threats are not producing the leverage he thinks they are and, yes, we are the “hottest” country in the world right now, as in too hot to handle and too dangerous to help.
Love it or leave it
For all the crybaby war protesters, please proceed to the nearest airport and take your seat on the first flight to the Middle East. Adios.
Thanks in order
Thank you, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, for being the only member of Mississippi’s congressional delegation to speak up about Donald Trump’s threat that “a whole civilization will die.” Your Republican colleagues in the house, Michael Guest, Trent Kelly and Mike Ezell, were enjoying yet another congressional vacation hiding from constituents and posting carefully-staged photo ops on social media about how they were working hard in their respective districts. Likewise, your Senate colleague Roger Wicker was holding fake “panels” praising Trump accounts and Cindy Hyde-Smith was fundraising for her reelection. Not a one of them even acknowledged this madness, much less denounced it for what it was: A threat of genocide.
Diplomacy
I wanted to clarify my understanding of the situation regarding France, South Korea, and the Group of Seven. It appears that these parties have agreed to convene in order to address the ongoing developments in the Strait of Hormuz. However, they have chosen not to participate in the U.S.’s unilateral military actions to annihilate Iran. Given these circumstances, perhaps it is worth considering a shift toward diplomacy instead of pursuing aggressive strategies such as military intervention. A diplomatic approach could pave the way for constructive dialogue and a more stable resolution. “Blasting Iran back to the Stone Age” does not appear to be very effective.
Sad, but true
There are a lot of South Mississippians who would gladly drink the Kool-Aid that President Trump is serving. I can’t believe so many men, and I’m just guessing, are willing to support this war and spin it as if we are being toughest. It reminds me of ancient warfare where the group wins who has the most men and resources to sacrifice. All in the name of God, Allah, an emperor, or a king.
He doesn’t need help looking bad
The White House, specifically Karoline Leavitt, constantly whines that the press does everything in its power to make the pPresident look bad. No media outlet has to work hard to do that. Donald Trump has taken a wrecking ball to our country, both figuratively and literally. He and his sycophant henchmen have epically failed, added trillions to the unsustainable national debt, done nothing for the average family while corruptly enriching themselves and their rich buddies, and lied every step of the way. You can’t even tout the border/immigration success without acknowledging the thuggery unleashed, and the dead bodies left in the wake. The real challenge for the media is finding anything to make the President look good.
Ceasefire
That two-week TACO Tuesday ceasefire was awesome, for the 10 hours it lasted. Great work again, President Art of the Deal.
