House divided
From the “Illegal Votes” hysteria to the “No More Kings” street chaos, the primary result of the anger and shouting from both sides is exactly the same — further division of the American people. Who benefits? We’re hurting each other and empowering our enemies.
No kings
Newsflash: We don’t have a king. You can quit the silliness anytime now.
Supreme Court
Could someone please explain why the president attended the Supreme Court case about birthright citizenship? Surely it was not to intimidate his puppet justices to support his position. Presidents usually keep distance from active Supreme Court cases to preserve the appearance of judicial independence. When they don’t, it’s often controversial — precisely because it can look like pressure, even if none is explicit. There are no limits to what this bully will do to get his way.
Drinking game
The only thing I came away with after the president’s interruption of The Masked Singer on Wednesday was that if you had “greatest ever” and “like nobody has ever seen” in your drinking game, you died of alcohol poisoning.
Constitutional integrity
A proper ruling would restore the original meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment by recognizing that citizenship requires more than mere birthplace, it requires full allegiance and lawful jurisdiction. Extending automatic citizenship to children of those unlawfully present erodes the rule of law, undermines fairness to legal immigrants, and stretches constitutional language beyond its intended limits. By drawing a clear line, the Court would reaffirm that citizenship is a legal bond rooted in legitimacy, not a loophole created by unlawful entry.
Wondering
If we tighten up our citizenship laws, are Little Marco and our First Lady going to be kicked out?
NPR and PBS
In a major victory for democracy and free speech, Donald Trump will not be allowed to pull all funding for NPR and PBS. The attempts to silence any media who do not support his warped views are unconstitutional. His enormous ego is so fragile he acts like a child over any criticism, demonstrating weakness rather than the strength he tries so hard to project.
