Mueller
Oh sure, nothing says presidential leadership quite like celebrating the death of a decorated Marine, former FBI Director, and lifelong public servant. Because when you think of Robert Mueller, a Bronze Star recipient who served under both parties, the obvious response is: “Good, glad he’s dead.” Meanwhile, former presidents like George W. Bush and Barack Obama went with the boring route, praising integrity, service, and sacrifice. You know … the usual outdated stuff like dignity. But why bother with respect when you can: Make it about yourself, settle old scores, and turn a moment of national reflection into a personal victory lap. Because nothing unites the country quite like … spiking the football at a funeral. At this point, it’s less about politics and more like watching a middle schooler discover social media for the first time, except the account happens to belong to the president of the U.S. But hey, who needs empathy when you’ve got a keyboard and a grudge, right?
Junk mail
I have an FYI for businesses and their marketing departments. If you neglect to put a name and return address on your solicitation letter because you think I might not open it if I knew who you were, you are probably right. If you try to fool me with “consumer protection division,” “office of benefits” or the one I received today, “ fulfillment center” just know it goes directly to the recycling can, and adding “important,” “ time sensitive material” or “reply requested” doesn’t help your cause. I guess enough people fall for this ruse to keep it going. Maybe the Postmaster General could mandate a requirement of truthful identification on this junk mail instead of doing nothing but raising the price of stamps continually.
Seafood gumbo
If you put sausage in your seafood gumbo, it is no longer a seafood dish. For Lent, sausage is a meat and not a condiment.
2024 was fine?
Why is the 2020 election being investigated but not the 2024 election? If there was fraud it would be evident in both elections.
Best schools
Hard to believe that no schools from Jackson County, particularly Ocean Springs, were included in the list of top elementary school in Niche’s current listing. What’s up with that?
Bias
If we had an unbiased national media the Democrats wouldn’t stand a chance.
Hormuz control
A wrinkle in planning to open the Hormuz Strait is that Iran already allows its tankers (bound for China), Indian tankers, and tankers from other Iran-friendly countries to pass through. They are currently controlling the Strait. The USA is lifting the sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil in an attempt to lower world oil prices. How does any of this make sense? It is a consequence of poor planning.
