Biden’s legacy

Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, let their egos destroy their hopes of an honorable legacy. Republicans and Democrats are right to be disappointed. If Biden had gracefully exited and emphasized the potential of his 3 major legislations: the Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Chips and Science Act, he would be better remembered.

Truth to power

“60 Minutes” correspondent Scotty Pelley had the courage to speak truth to power. When are MS media outlets like Sun Herald, WLOX and WXXV going to do the same? Instead of actual acts of journalism where (mostly Republican) elected officials are asked hard questions about their continued support of the Trump Administration or their outright silence regarding the abuses of power, Mississippians are treated to warm, friendly interviews of said politicians with softball questions like, “Do you like puppies and kittens?”

Ridiculous

So we have a guy who is the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, who will continue in that role while he picks up a little side job as Director of National Intelligence, for which he has no qualifications. Donald Trump is too busy with remodeling and planning to honor himself on his birthday to even take this situation seriously. I feel so safe.

Redistricting

Sorry, President Trump did not start the redistricting efforts. It started in 1812 with the Governor of Massachusetts signing a state senate district that was shaped like a salamander to favor the Democratic-Republican Party at the time. It has been used by both parties to favor themselves. This has been around for a long time. Just like cheating in elections.

Political lesson

If all politicians set aside their egos, followed the example of our first president, and had the humility and grace to know when it’s time to leave public office, we would be a better nation.

Competitive health care

A couple of months ago I went to the ER at Ochsner in the Bay. I was told that I needed to see an orthopedic doctor in Diamondhead. When I went to my primary care doctor who is with Memorial he told me I had really messed up. Was told that he couldn’t treat me. Is this normal practice between medical professionals?

Fails logic

Some are upset that many are voicing disapproval of President Trump. Real patriots do not sit quietly by and watch the continuous destruction of the country. Trump’s appointment of totally unqualified Cabinet members is taking its toll.
