Sound Off

Sound Off: March 16, 2026

TSA officers missed their first full paycheck March 13, as a partial funding shutdown of the government approached the one-month mark, with no breakthrough in a congressional standoff that is beginning to disrupt travel across the country.

TSA

Paying TSA agents should be simple. Just transfer within DHS a few of the extra billions that are being allocated for ICE raids and concentration camps.

Parade change

Good for Ocean Springs picking up the St. Paddy’s parade from Old Biloxi. You should try for the Mardi Gras parades, also. Seems to be a burden for Biloxi.

The Weather Channel

I totally agree with the person who entered the Sound Off about the Weather Channel not being available any longer. If what we are receiving now is even close to what we will receive when we have bad weather, then we are in trouble. The Weather Channel always had a very updated forecast about what we could have in the future. Their reporters were always very knowledgeable about what has happened in the past and could happen now. It was almost 24 hours of updated reporting. What we are getting now is not much different than what the regular channels give us. I don’t know why this happened, but it was probably a financial decision. I saw nothing about a reduced cost.

Paging DOGE

So it turns out that Sec. Hegseth didn’t get the memo about reducing costs, huh? Millions and millions of dollars for steak and lobster? Seems like some of those unnecessary swampy costs we heard so much about.

We won?

On March 11, our president told AXIOS, about the War, “Any time I want to end it, it will end.” At a rally in Kentucky that same day, he said we “won” and that the conflict was “over.” On March 13th, he told Brian Kilmeade the war will be over “When I feel it,” and “When I feel it in my bones.” The Strait of Hormuz is still closed. What are we to believe, our president’s confusing words, or what we see on the news?

Hope

This religious concert themed “Hope” is interesting. What exactly are we hoping for? That was Obama’s message when he campaigned for President. Is it for peace, love or just the promise of after death salvation?

DEI

Before there was DEI there was WP. White privilege was all you needed to get a job. That was the real affirmative action.
