The problem

Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, 85, says he is running for an 18th term in Congress. Absolutely ridiculous.

Another shutdown?

Democrats now see government shutdowns as a handy tool to use any time they don’t get everything they want.

A promise

After standing in line for hours at an airport, I can promise you only one thing: As soon as I figure out which party is responsible, I’ll be voting for the other guys.

Show some respect

The sight of dignitaries standing solemnly at attention for the fallen heroes at Dover Air Force Base was deeply moving. It was therefore troubling to see the Commander-in-Chief wearing a white ball cap with his personal logo embroidered in gold. Moments like these should be about honoring sacrifice, not personal branding. The senior military leaders present looked dignified in their Class-A uniforms, representing the traditions and solemn respect of the armed forces. By contrast, the cap looked out of place at such a somber ceremony. The families of these fallen soldiers deserve quiet dignity and honor—not a display that draws attention away from the solemn purpose of the moment.

Iran

I’m thankful the Trump administration had the backbone to attack Iran. I hope only that they aren’t distracted or slowed by Democrats trying to prevent them from doing what needs to be done.

Big brother

AI powered, Chinese-made, mass surveillance is being introduced across Africa with technology that recognizes faces and tracks movement. This is true “Big Brother” stuff and very scary.

Picking a leader

Trump now says the U.S. should have a role in choosing Iran’s next leader. Since Kristi Noem suddenly needs a new job, why not appoint her? Just set aside another $200 million for the inevitable photoshoot — this time in a hijab.
