Proud to be an American

Can’t help but feel such pride for my country over the exceptional Olympic Gold Medal hockey wins by our women’s and men’s teams. Hard to believe the Huffington Post actually did a commie liberal piece on what to do if you are traumatized and ashamed of your country over crowds waving U.S. flags and chanting “U-S-A.” Unbelievable.

Perfection

There is a lot of junk online, and I don’t generally care for profanity, but the post by Jimmy’s Seafood in response to the Huffington Post might be the greatest post in the history of social media.

Tariff shenanigans

“Free speech” says that “the president has since altered his tariff policies to conform to the bounds of the [Supreme Court] decision.“ In fact, he did not. He circumvented the spirit of the court’s decision by implementing new tariffs using obscure techniques, including a law never used for such by a president before. Meanwhile, we, the American people, pay the tariffs.

Government spending

Why do we U.S. citizens often hear Social Security is going broke in a few years, but we never hear how welfare is going broke?

State of the Union

Boycotting the State of the Union address is an unserious, childish act. We deserve more from the officials we elected. Is it that difficult to be a grownup and do your job? It’s performative nonsense to not show up.

Politics

Team politics has ruined accountability. You blindly cheer for a party over your country. Pathetic as it gets. And that goes for both sides.

I’m old enough to remember when having an affair with your subordinate, who then killed herself, was the type of thing that would cause one to resign their elected office.

War with Iran

If you listen to FOX News, it seems we are about to go to war with Iran anytime in the next couple of weeks. Article One, Section Eight, of the Constitution clearly states that only Congress has the authority to declare war. Will we follow Putin’s playbook and use two aircraft carriers and an armada of ships and planes to conduct a “special military operation,” or call it for what it is and brazenly disregard the Constitution?

Iran and the bomb

Iran has been 2 weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon since 1979.

Nuclear deal

Just so everyone is clear: President Obama already had an Iran nuclear deal. President Trump ripped it up when he came into office, choosing a policy of “maximum pressure” instead. So now he’s saying we might go to war in order to get an Iran nuclear deal. You cannot make this stuff up.

ICE

ICE is correct when it says that any person in our country illegally who does not self-deport runs the risk of being deported.

They are illegal

It truly is very simple. If you are in our country illegally, regardless of how long you have been here, you are breaking the law. And it is our right, and I would argue our duty, to send you home.
