Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

What happened to MAHA?

President Trump’s latest affront to MAHA, and a sweetheart favor to the pesticide industry: Invoking the Defense Production Act to support the manufacturing of glyphosate.

Not what I voted for

Make America Healthy Again by ensuring a steady, government-mandated stream of Roundup. Shout out to our president for giving us the right dose of poison.

Still here

Wow, Ellen and others couldn’t make it elsewhere. Not surprising. The rest of the Hollywood elites seem to have taken a knee. What’s wrong?

UN vs. Board of Peace

The United Nations was created post-WWII with the stated mission to keep peace throughout the world, develop friendly relations among nations, help nations work together to improve people’s lives, and promote human rights. Trump’s Board of Peace concentrates power in one individual, ties influence to money, lacks universal legitimacy, and risks undermining the UN rather than strengthening global peace governance. The Board of Peace charter grants extraordinary authority to its chair, Donald Trump personally, rather than to a collective body. According to the charter and independent reviews: The chair controls membership, renewal, agenda‑setting, interpretation of the charter, and creation or dissolution of subsidiary bodies.

Hospital needed

It sure would have been nice to have a hospital in central Harrison County. Maybe WalMart can perform heart surgery on me.

Enough

I’m sorry that an old lady was kidnapped, but at what point is enough going to be enough with the seemingly wall-to-wall coverage of it?

Tariffs

Key issue to bear in mind as you watch the political response to the Supreme Court tariff decision: The Court didn’t say that the U.S. can’t issue tariffs, simply that the president has to convince the Republican-controlled Congress first. If tariffs are a great idea, that should be an easy argument to win.

How illegal?

How illegal were President Trump’s tariffs? The very-right-leaning Supreme Court just voted against him 6-3.

With friends like this

We voted for President Trump and a Republican House and Senate. And here we are with Congress and the Supreme Court continuing to work against the president we chose.

Iran

Why are positioning ships outside Iran for a possible attack? I can’t keep up with all the excuses for invading other countries. The reason is supposed to be to protect the protestors there from persecution, but that’s hypocritical. Could it be for their oil?

Meme coins

According to Forbes, meme coins value is driven by community sentiment, social media hype, and celebrity endorsements. Beyond speculation, the tokens have no use. As reported by FastCompany magazine, as of Feb 9th, Trump coins are down 96% from their high, and Melania coins are down 99%. You can draw your own conclusions. My conclusion is that he is a grifter taking advantage of his supporters.

Not again

With all the real problems we are having readers are reviving the trans fear tactic. Concentrate on pedophiles and domestic abusers, instead. There are way more of them living amongst us.
