About ‘What we voted for’
A well-written Sound Off declared that the Minnesota violence is what 77 million of us voted for and would vote for again now. Is the comment an advocacy for more of the same, or a condemnation of what we’ve become? Ambiguity makes you think about what kind of country we want to be. Righteous, kind, law-abiding, humane, big government, small government, states rights, federal supremacy, Second Amendment rights; the Minnesota violence has it all in very complex ways. You have to understand the opposing point of view to debate it.
Minnesota madness
I am a veteran, but I feel that if a law-abiding citizen was carrying a gun to a protest march then he was asking for trouble. Just because he was a VA Nurse, he is not innocent. He was carrying a gun for a reason, and it cost him his life. How many protesters have been killed just for protesting, only the ones that have tried to harm ICE Officers? Stop the protesting, let the officers do their jobs and leave your city. It is that simple. People are so dumb, or they are getting paid to stir up trouble to advance an agenda that is against the upholding of the law.
The upside-down
I am positively baffled. The same people who have spent decades screaming about the Democrats’ desire to “take our guns” and fighting every single bid at gun control, are now, apparently, totally cool with the idea.
So we can tread now?
Is today’s lesson that it’s perfectly good to tread on anyone and everyone, as long as it’s your political party doing the treading?
Taking up space
The Maple Grove police department arrested 7 people for riot and damaging the Marriott hotel where they believed a Border Patrol chief was lodging. That so-called peaceful protest had deteriorated to nothing less than criminal trespass and destruction of property. Those arrested had previous criminal histories. No surprise really because at heart they are outlaws and anarchists. Their motivation is always self first, then Trump-hatred coupled with any cause that is anti-America, anti-law and order, anti-religion and culturally disruptive.
Which is it?
Let me get it straight. Are y’all for the right to bear arms and have freedom of speech, or is it just for certain people? Be honest and just say it, if that’s what’s up.
Second Amendment
I have to be honest when I say that of all the amendments that I expected President Trump to trample, I didn’t have the second one on my list.
