Food pyramid

They need to put ramen noodles on that pyramid. The way prices are rising, that’s going to soon be all we can afford.

Only the best people

I’m comforted in knowing that someone with such a long career in the health field is in charge of this new food pyramid that they’ve thrown out there.

Nobel Peace ‘Price’

Preside Trump has done it again. Transform the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize into a shiny golden trinket that can be bought or bribed instead of won for talent and humility. Maria Corina Machado played it perfectly: flatter Trump’s narcissistic, authoritarian instincts, whisper “Nobel Peace Prize,” and watch policy bend. Peace talks are easiest when you bring a mirror instead of a plan. The medal won’t need a display case — it’ll just blend in with the rest of the gold-plated delusions in his new ballroom.

Long Beach

Lowering the speed limits in Long Beach is ridiculous. It’s just a dirty way to write more speeding tickets. Long Beach is already known as Ticket City We should all avoid Jeff Davis Avenue as much as possible.

Speeding

Now that Long Beach has lowered the speed limit on Jeff Davis Avenue to 15 mph, and is soon to lower Railroad Street to 30 mph, it is time to tackle Pineville Road. This has been a racetrack for a while now, and with all the new homes being built along that corridor, it is only going to get worse.

I-10, too

Thanks to the Gulfport PD on Thursday morning for writing tickets on the Autobahn I-10 between Cowan Road and Highway 49. It’s a dangerous time and stretch of road.

Make it permanent

Recent immigration enforcement gains only happened because citizens spoke up — but none of them are permanent. They can be reversed by the next administration unless Congress acts now. I strongly urge readers to contact their elected officials and demand that strong, enforceable immigration laws be permanently codified. Temporary fixes, funding patches, and political promises are not enough. The rule of law must be secured in statute, and lawmakers must be held accountable by the voters they serve.

Leave ICE alone

I honestly don’t understand the concept of attempting to prevent ICE from doing its job. Interfering with ICE must be dealt with in the harshest legal manner allowed.

Honor them

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has repeatedly refused to display a plaque in the U.S. Capitol which honors the law enforcement officers who protected Members of Congress during the attack on the US Capitol building on 06 January 2021. Rep. Mike Ezell has not publicly objected to this position. I called Rep. Ezell’s office to ask staffers if he had also decided to display a replica of this plaque in his Congressional office. I was informed he was not displaying any such plaque. As a taxpaying constituent, I believe I am owed an explanation for that refusal to honor law enforcement officers for their dedication to duty, a position that is even more galling given Rep. Ezell’s repeated self-promotions of being a retired sheriff with over 42 years of experience.

Fraud

Most Americans contribute to charities and are willing to help citizens in need, however most citizens don’t want to surrender their hard-earned money to fraudsters. If we, as a reasonable country, allow this welfare fraud to continue and not addressed, we are in real trouble.

So silly

Every time a Democrat stands before Congress or in front of a camera and speaks about transgenderism, another Republican voter is created.

How did we get here?

I truly don’t understand the concept of a boy wanting to, through surgery and medicine, become a girl ... and then compete in sporting events against real girls. It’s lunacy.
