Owning Greenland
I really had to laugh at Dear Leader saying that Denmark can’t claim ownership of Greenland just because it landed a boat there 500 years ago. Maybe he ought to read a little history before making idiotic statements. What about the Mayflower?
Let’s get it
As far as Greenland is concerned, there’s a deal there to be made. And I trust President Trump a whole lot more to make it than I do President Biden. Or Kamala Harris.
Absurdity
Greenland belongs to Denmark, a founding member of NATO. Greenland allows the U.S. full access to the island and we have had a base there for decades. All this absurd rhetoric from President Trump is to create havoc and to try to validate us leaving NATO and our European Allies, which is absurd.
Looks familiar
When my father, one of the most gracious and dignified men on earth, started to show signs of dementia in his eighties he lost all filters. He began inappropriately cursing and making obscene hand gestures whenever he encountered anything or anyone he didn’t like or disagreed with. Donald Trump’s recent behavior towards a heckler is labeled “an appropriate response” by the White House. Really? By the President of the United States (and Venezuela)?
Get it right
Mr. President, on July 16, 2025, you harshly criticized Joe Biden for appointing Jerome Powell as Chair of the Fed. He was not “appointed by Joe Biden.” You appointed him in 2017. Biden renominated him in 2022. So, which is it—are you lying, or do you have dementia? You brag about going off-script and not needing a Teleprompter. Fine. But if you’re going to wing it, at least get the basic facts right.
Stay home?
“Should have been home,“ says the Sound Off writer. In Nazi Germany, Jews had no choice but to stay home because they had no freedom. If they went outside they were arrested. Sounds like Trump‘s America.
Interest rates and inflation
Time is money. When making a loan, the loan rate is supposed to cover inflation, the risk of non-payment, and the loss of the money’s current use. The interest rate should be more than inflation. All this talk of lowering interest rates hurts people who save money. Conservative savers don’t want interest rates that unfairly favor stock prices.
