Amtrak crashes

A recent article about Amtrak and car crashes states that most wrecks involved cars that were driven around gates that were down or ignored flashing lights. There’s an old phrase that states “Government cannot legislate intelligence.”

Healthcare

Congress left for its holiday break without making a decision on the healthcare tax credits. My premium will go from $120 a month for health, vision and dental to $1,300. I am self-employed. Get back to work and find a solution. This is ridiculous. Extend it until you all have your act together to figure out a plan.

Disgusting

I was shocked to hear President Trump’s derisive comments about the Reiner murders. But when I read some of the plaques he installed under the photos of past presidents in the White House, I’m convinced that this monster has sunken to an all-time low.

Lies and exaggerations

Some people think that lies are flat-out bad while exaggerations are not as bad as lies. But exaggerations are lies. They are lies that are softened because without the softening they would be obviously false and not believed by the intended audience. Moreover, an exaggeration is more malicious than a lie. It is a lie that is carefully shaped to get you personally to believe it. So beware of exaggerators. Try to see through the various maneuvers they use to try to get you to believe their lies. Insist on truth.

Inspections

I think it is a good idea to not require vehicles to be inspected. This gives police an opportunity to pull people over for a missing light and find many of them without insurance or carrying drug paraphernalia.

Sleepy Don

While the GOP routinely criticized President Biden for taking naps in private, I hear only silence from them about Trump’s very public naps in meetings and press conferences. He nods out because he is up all night posting inappropriate rants and boasts about his supposed accomplishments.

Immigration

Kudos to President Trump and his administration for the crackdown on illegal immigrants. This should have been done under President Biden, but he was either unwilling or unable to do so.
