Trump-Kennedy Center

The idea for a national culture center was initiated by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1955 when he formed a commission to make recommendations for a new public auditorium in the nation’s capital. In 1964, after the death of President Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy was instrumental in having the center renamed after her husband as a Memorial to him. With the support of President Lyndon Johnson, “PUBLIC LAW 88-260” renamed the center the “National John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts”. The bill passed both houses of Congress by voice and became law on Jan. 23, 1964. I see nothing in either bill that allows the board of trustees to rename the facility.

Much ado

So now everybody is all worked up over the president of the United States getting his name on a building. Y’all really do get Big Mad at pretty much anything associated with him, don’t you?

Urgent repair needed

Considering the critical need for the U.S. 90 bridges from Mississippi to Louisiana to reopen, one would think that some of the infrastructure bill money could be diverted from less urgent projects.

Priorities

It’s good to know that the governor of Louisiana is spending his time on the things that are truly important. Like hiring away a football coach from Ole Miss. Not little things like repairing bridges on a main artery between the Louisiana and Mississippi.

They had the money

Just curious as to whether Brian Kelly’s buyout money would build a bridge or two between Louisiana and Mississippi.

Why red?

When I moved down here from the Great White North in 1982, this was a Democrat-held state. Being present when it switched to Republican, I have seen a lot of things get better. I think we are doing fine. Everything can be improved, but I think things are being run better. The current Democratic powerful are way too liberal for most people around here. We want a more conservatively run state. I’m pretty sure you will get some comments about getting your Yankee behind back north, but not from me. Stay here, spend your money, but do go back North to vote.

Here’s why

When the Democrats become more concerned about what the majority of people are concerned about, and not silly social issues, they might have a chance to win an election in the South. Maybe.

He’ll say anything

Oh, look. President Trump’s “Warrior Dividend” is actually a military housing stipend already approved by Congress, and not a generous new White House program. But, keep at it y’all, those boots aren’t going to lick themselves.

Patriot Games

President Trump just announced the creation of the “Patriot Games,” an “unprecedented four-day athletic event” with “one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.” We asked for affordable health care and we’re getting the Hunger Games.

Tough one

The latest Quinnipiac poll has Democrats at a whopping 18% approval rating. They are down to friends, family, illegals and health insurance execs.

So long

Dan Bongino, a massive Trump supporter went to the FBI promising to expose all the Epstein files, saw Donald Trump’s name all over them, changed his tune regarding them, never once exposed anything on them, then quit.

Renaming things

If we’re going to add President Trump’s name to things, can we continue with the Trump-Epstein files?
