Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

D.C. shooting

Seeing the brazenness of the attack on our National Guard members in Washington D.C. certainly gives weight to President Trump’s belief that D.C. needs the National Guard, wouldn’t you say?

National Guard

The National Guard proved its worth in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s a shame that these two were gunned down in D.C. There are monsters among us all.

Unequal

All the outrage over the shooting of National Guardsmen, but compare that with the attack on Congress on Jan. 6, where police were beaten and killed. See the bias?

Hate

The writer who wrote, “Democrats hate Trump, and you, for voting him in,” is wrong. I don’t hate President Trump. I dislike him personally, and I disagree with him politically. People who are full of hate need people to hate, so they project onto people who disagree with them that they are haters so they can hate them back. We can disagree with one another and dislike one another without hating each other.

PDS

I am amused each time I see a Trump supporter gleefully zing a Trump critic for having TDS. A few years ago Republicans were afflicted by ODS, Obama Derangement Syndrome. Apparently the more basic disease, PDS, Presidential Derangement Syndrome, is a highly contagious affliction that is passed from party to party no matter who is in office. It causes juvenile behavior, but obviously it doesn’t afflict only juveniles.

California

What was stated in the Sound Off about California not getting back near what it takes in, in federal funding, is just plain fact. Taker states like Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana get that money. Yes, California has the highest number of homeless. It is also the nost populous state in the country, so that would make sense. California supports other states and still supports itself. When you present facts, you get the usual come back: Why do you live in “racist Mississippi”. Can’t make this nonsense up.

An exodus

A search shows me that “California, New York, and Illinois are the states people are leaving the most, primarily due to high costs of living and housing.” Seems like they all have something in common, huh?

Illegal orders

Unless someone can specifically point to illegal orders that have been given, then the video the six lawmakers made can only be interpreted as an attack on our leadership, in my opinion.

Pushing a narrative

Democrats are playing dumb, but it’s obvious what they were trying to do here. They were trying to create a narrative that President Trump had given “illegal orders.” All the people in the video went on TV and got asked, what are the illegal orders? None of them can name an illegal order.

Turkeys

Nothing unusual from the president this Thanksgiving. He pardons more turkeys (the birds and buddies) and tries to prosecute Democratic veteran patriots and heroes for telling the truth.

“Quiet, piggy”

I really could do without my obese president referring to working reporters as “piggy.”

Why?

The Education department wants to declassify some professionals, such as nurses for God’s sake. What could possibly be the reason?
