Republican or Democrat. Red or blue. Liberal or conservative. May you and yours have a happy Thanksgiving.

Conservative fiscal values

As a Mississippi voter who supported Sen. Hyde-Smith because she pledged to fight reckless spending and uphold conservative principles, I am deeply concerned that her recent votes do not reflect those commitments. Voting against Senate Continuing Resolution 7, which would have cut $1.4 trillion in federal deficits, against H. Con. Res. 14, which sought to limit the debt ceiling increase, and against H.R. 1968, which would have reduced foreign aid spending, directly contradicts the conservative values of fiscal restraint, limited government, and constitutional responsibility. Mississippi conservatives expect leadership that protects taxpayers, cuts waste, and keeps its promises — not votes that continue Washington’s spending habits.

Say it ain’t so

A federal judge tossed out separate criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday, saying the loyalist prosecutor installed by President Donald Trump to bring the cases was put into her job unlawfully. So, Trump is appointing unqualified cronies to high level government positions. Oh no, say it ain’t so! I guess the judge will soon join the ranks of the unemployed who have opposed him. I know, federal judges are life-time appointments, but I’m sure the authoritarian dictator will find a way.

All that losing

It really is mind-blowing how many times President Trump and his minions lose in court.

More hate

President Trump has a moment of generosity and reaches across the metaphorical aisle to Mayor Mamdani. “Getting along“ turns that into another opportunity for hate. Why must only Democrats learn from that peaceful meeting? You MAGA people have turned the word “Democrat“ into an epithet. Let us all see that peace is better than hate.

Orders

Presidents Bush and then Obama killed thousands of people by ordering drone strikes all over the Middle East. This particular president has killed (only) a handful. Democrats hate Trump, and you, for voting him in.
