Guess both sides forgot

I seem to recall Sound Off posts and angry screeds online about how New York City, and Democrats in particular, must have forgotten 9/11 in relation to the election of Mayor Mamdani. And I agreed with those thoughts. Now I see President Trump smiling with his good friend, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Last I checked, the CIA found Saudi leadership funded 9/11. Guess the Democrats aren’t the only ones who forgot.

‘Things happen’

“Things happen” is what you say when you burn dinner, break a vase or forget a friend’s birthday. “Things happen” is now what you say in reference to the violent murder and dismembering of a journalist in a consulate. But maybe I’m just not MAGA enough.

So who are we making great again?

I’m going to admit to being confused. President Trump hosted Saudi royalty and praised their investments in America while MAGA is walking the streets of Dearborn, Michigan, harassing Muslims and saying they shouldn’t be here?

The ‘M’ stands for moderate?

If Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now the voice of reason, then congratulations to the Republicans — they’ve officially completed their full descent into the discount bin at the political Dollar Tree. There are two possibilities: 1) She regained her sanity. Adorable theory. Truly precious. Like believing your cat suddenly learned algebra. 2) The rest of the GOP has gotten so unhinged that MTG — MTG! — is the one holding the flashlight and telling everyone to calm down. This is the political equivalent of the passengers on the Titanic turning to the guy playing a kazoo and saying, “Thank God someone here has a plan.” Let’s be real: she didn’t rise; they sunk. And now here we are, watching the party that once produced Reagan and Eisenhower look to a woman who once blamed wildfires on laser-beaming space-Jews and saying, “wow, finally, a moderate.”

The trades are booming

The manufacturing sector, along with auto mechanics, are in demand. As are plumbers, electricians, and HVAC techs. Boomers are retiring in record numbers, with no one to replace them. At a summit in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a demand was made that ship building companies increase the pay for journeyman shipbuilders. Current pay matches Amazon and Buc-ee’s. No reason to stay.

We’ll get ... something

I’m not a betting person, but I’m sure the Epstein files will be purged of any references to President Trump. Why else are they now so eager to release them after a year of fighting against it?

Someone’s going to have it bad

I’m looking forward to finding out who the one Republican left in the Epstein files will be. Because you know they’re going to leave one in and say “See, we didn’t scrub the files. There’s a Republican in there.”
