Obamacare

Yes, lots of people like coverage under the ACA. It is relatively inexpensive right now, because it is subsidized by the federal government. By me, the taxpayer. I’m already paying for healthcare. Why should I pay for someone else’s, also? Obamacare was, and is, a disaster. A poor quality of healthcare.

Blind fealty

Be clear: Nobody is more conservative than I, so you haters of Democrats don’t get to blame what I say on the “far left.“ Trumpian Republicans follow and regurgitate like robots. He says that Democrats are to blame for everything and minions repeat. No evidence is required. He says a city is crime-ridden, statistics be damned. He says the military should have carte blanche in the United States, the Constitution be damned. Even as he says the Democrats are to blame for the budget stalemate, it is convenient to ignore that Republicans control the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. He tramples on the First Amendment and even the press barely objects, out of fear. Like book burning, history and data are being irretrievably destroyed and no one stands up to the destroyer. I’m reminded of the wonders of the world that the Taliban decimated in 2001, wonders that can never, ever be retrieved. We can only hope that the deleted data is backed up somewhere.

Wise words

“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.“ Read further into President Kennedy’s speech to truly understand that he did not believe that people should lay back with hands out. Refreshing.

What you voted for?

President Trump says 600,000 Chinese students coming to the U.S. is a pro-MAGA stance because “you would have half the colleges in the United States go out of business. I know what MAGA wants better than anybody else.”

A betrayal

We should all be furious that the very people elected to safeguard our nation’s future have instead mortgaged it away. Our so-called leaders in Congress and throughout the bureaucratic establishment have spent recklessly, borrowing money this country does not have and saddling our children and grandchildren with a crushing debt they never agreed to bear. The evidence of corruption and self-enrichment among those in power may not yet have been proven in court, but it is blatantly apparent to anyone paying attention. This betrayal of public trust is not just irresponsible—it’s immoral. Those responsible should be ashamed of what they’ve done to the American people and to the generations who will pay for their greed.

The shutdown

Congratulations to the Democrats for creating unnecessary hardships on the American public during the past 40 days. This government shutdown should have been avoided, and you eventually agreed to the same terms that have been on the table since mid-September.

Why they lose

The Democrats just put millions of Americans through the wringer, and for what? I’d have at least a small bit of respect for them if they held to their guns. But, nope, just another instance where the Dems are full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Ego-minting

The Treasury is exploring a “Presidential Prestige Series”—limited-edition coins embossed with motivational quotes from the leader himself. Collect all five and you might unlock a free weekend at one of his golf properties (blackout dates include all weekends, holidays, and days ending in “y”). Critics call it vanity. Supporters call it visionary. But let’s be honest: this isn’t about currency—it’s about ‘curren-me.’ The line between governance and branding has officially dissolved, and we’re left with a nation where the face of power is also the face of the product. George Washington warned against the rise of factions. He never imagined they’d come with loyalty cards and a merch table.

Off-limits

Having read with interest the story about 3 establishments being off limits to Keesler soldiers, I would like to suggest more. What, if anything, is the purpose of the vulgar adult stores so near the base? I can recall at least one shooting there not long after Hurricane Katrina. Soldiers should not go into those places.

What’s the deal?

President Trump is promising $2000 for us to pay for tariffs. I thought the other countries would pay the tariffs. Is he admitting that tariffs are a tax? So, we get $2,000 from the government that we will give back to the government?

SNAP

I suspect many if not most SNAP recipients already work one or two jobs and still quality for the program.

Lies by omission

What do you do when the jobs report is looking bad? You stop reporting it. Remember the last report? They fired the staff for publishing it.
