The dollar
The most significant indicator of our economy is the value the world places on holding U.S. dollars as a reserve currency. Gold is at record highs, and the dollar value is decreasing. This is more important than the stock market as an indicator of our country’s finances.
Healthcare and the law
How amusing that there is a federal law prohibiting illegal immigrants from receiving Medicaid and Medicare. There is also a federal law prohibiting people from entering our country illegally. How did that work out? The healthcare issue comes into play when an illegal goes to the ER. Hospitals cannot turn them away and the hospitals bill the federal government for those costs.
Shame
Shame on House Speaker Mike Johnson for saying that people who participate in “No Kings” rallies hate America. We participate in those rallies because we love America. Yes, we disagree with President Trump as to what would make America better, but we don’t think that because Trump and his followers think differently from us that they hate America. So let’s debate possible solutions to our problems, try what the majority of voters prefer, and move on with mutual respect, united by the principles of our Constitution.
No Kings
Any patriotic American should be against having rule by a king or dictator. Perhaps if you don’t agree, please consider moving to China, North Korea or Russia. Our veterans fight for democracy, not a king or wealthy monarch.
We don’t have one
I think Speaker Mike Johnson said it best: If we had a king, the government would be open. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Trump and Putin
How many more times is President Trump going to declare that Vladimir Putin wants to end the war? He obviously has no intention of ending the war, or he would have done it months ago.
Powerful Russia
For all the talk about what mighty Russia can and will do to Ukraine if it doesn’t give up, consider the situation on the ground. Russia throught it could walk into Ukraine and be in Kiev in two weeks. We’re now more than 3 1/2 years in and what, really, does Russia have to show for it? So much for some great superpower.
